Bikki Gurung: Journey from Nepal to America and His Music Career

Early Life and Education
Bikki Gurung, born on February 14, 1995, in Kathmandu, Nepal, completed his high school education in Nepal. Later, he moved to the United States for higher education and graduated with a degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS). While pursuing his studies, Bikki also focused on his passion for music, and currently, alongside his professional career in America, he continues to produce and write songs.

Music Career: Kewal – The Debut
Bikki’s entry into the music industry came with his debut single, “Kewal,” in 2015. Despite having no formal training, music became his passion and a form of emotional expression. Initially, he had no intentions of becoming a professional singer. Instead, Bikki wanted to be an artist who conveyed his emotions through melodies and lyrics. Reflecting on his approach to music creation, he said, “I just sit down and begin my compositions with writing down my thoughts, which turn into lyrics, and move on to developing a melody based on the feel I want the song to have.”

Mari Jau: The Hit
Bikki Gurung’s popularity soared with the release of his track “Mari Jau,” which became an instant hit. The song’s success led to the release of its sequel, “Mari Jau 2.” While Bikki didn’t anticipate such widespread acclaim, he was humbled by the overwhelming support from his fans. In an interview, he explained that the story in “Mari Jau” was incomplete, and with “Mari Jau 2,” he aimed to deliver a complete narrative.
