Diwas Gurung is a Nepalese multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer known for blending traditional Nepali folk music with contemporary genres like rock and metal. Born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, he moved to the United States in 2002 to attend Ithaca College in New York. During his time there, he co-founded the progressive rock band Ayurveda, contributing as a guitarist and vocalist.

Embarking on a solo career over a decade ago, Diwas has developed a distinctive sound that fuses Nepali folk elements with modern musical styles, creating a genre often referred to as Neo Nepalese Folk. His music is celebrated for its soulful and compelling nature, drawing from global influences.

In addition to his solo work, Diwas has collaborated with various artists, including Bartika Eam Rai, a Nepalese-American singer-songwriter. He produced her debut EP, “Bimbaakash,” released in 2016, which received critical acclaim and won several awards.

Diwas’s discography includes albums like “Rato Mato” and “Adhunik,” showcasing his versatility and commitment to preserving and innovating within Nepali music traditions. His work is available on various platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify, allowing listeners worldwide to experience his unique sound.

Currently based in Ithaca, New York, Diwas continues to produce, perform, and contribute to the global music scene, bridging cultural gaps through his innovative fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds.
