Naren Limbu, born on February 18, 1982, in Moharang, Terthum, is a renowned Nepali singer and music video director. The youngest son of Dal Narayan and Khin Maya Limbu, he spent his childhood in various locations, attending schools like Gorkha Children School in Hong Kong and Biyajpur in Dharan. He completed his A-Level from A J Wilde Institute. Despite not having formal education in music, Naren developed a passion for music at an early age, playing the guitar and singing with friends.
Naren pursued film studies at the Institute of Performing Film and Arts and began his music career by recording his first song, “Dosh,” in 2002 with Sudip Gurung. Their debut album, Aastha, included popular tracks like “Harpal” and “Yek Mauka,” both of which gained significant attention. Afterward, Naren released his solo album Aatma, featuring hits like “Eklai” and “Timi Aaunu.” He continued his success with Aartha, which included songs in the Limbu language, such as “Kheney Numa Kewa.”
Throughout his career, Naren has performed in numerous concerts across Nepal and Hong Kong and directed music videos for several of his tracks, including “Aatma,” “Timi Aaunu,” “Garho Garhai Cha,” and “Aantim Maya.” His work has earned him several accolades, including the Hits FM Music Award for Best New Artist in 2003 and a Channel Nepal award for the music video of “Ek Mauka.”
